Animation studio SHAFT has released a teaser trailer and a second key visual for "Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie: Walpurgisnacht Rising," the long-awaited sequel to the 2013 feature "Rebellion." The promotional materials were published on 15 July, confirming that the film will open in Japanese cinemas in February 2026. The project is produced by the original creators Magica Quartet together with Aniplex. Advance "MoviTicket" cards, bundled with a limited-edition clear file, will go on sale nationwide on 18 July 2025. “Walpurgisnacht Rising” continues the popular "Madoka Magica" franchise, which first aired as a television series in 2011 and has since become one of Japan’s most commercially successful dark-fantasy anime properties.
