Warner Bros. has set 5 December 2025 for the Japanese theatrical release of the live-action adaptation of Satoru Nii’s delinquent-youth manga “Wind Breaker.” The date was announced alongside a new trailer and teaser visual that feature on-set footage and cast interviews. Kentaro Hagiwara (Tokyo Ghoul) directs from a screenplay by Japan Academy Prize winner Yōsuke Masaike. Principal photography ran from February to April in Okinawa, where the production converted a local shopping street into an open set for large-scale fight scenes. The film stars Kōshi Mizukami as protagonist Haruka Sakura, supported by Taisei Kido, Keito Tsuna, JUNON, Motoki Nakazawa and Shūhei Uesugi. “Wind Breaker” follows transfer student Sakura’s quest to challenge the toughest fighters at Furin High School, a former gang stronghold now dedicated to defending its town. Kodansha publishes the manga digitally and in print in English. The screen project marks the first full live-action feature for the franchise, which previously spawned a stage play and a mobile game.
