The producers of "That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime" have released a teaser trailer and key visual for the franchise’s second theatrical feature, officially titled "Tears of the Azure Sea Arc." The film is scheduled to open in Japanese cinemas on 27 February 2026, with animation again handled by studio 8-Bit. Set after the foundation festivities of the Tempest Federation, the original story follows Rimuru and senior Tempest officials on holiday at a resort island in the elf nation of Sarion. Their break is disrupted by the arrival of a mysterious girl named Yura and an emerging threat that forces Rimuru back into action. Returning voice cast from the television series will reprise their roles. The forthcoming picture is the first big-screen outing for the series since the 2022 film "Scarlet Bond," which grossed ¥1.4 billion domestically. The television adaptation, now three seasons deep with a fourth in production, has helped cement the light-novel property as one of the most durable titles in the isekai genre.
