Kenyan opposition leader Edwin Sifuna has declared the removal of President William Ruto from office a national priority, criticizing Ruto's government as opposed to constitutional principles. Sifuna distanced himself from efforts to revive a memorandum of understanding between the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), describing the MOU as dead and refusing to participate in its review. He also denied any personal communication with President Ruto and rejected threats related to his status within ODM, emphasizing that only the party's disciplinary committee has authority over him. Sifuna expressed continued faith in ODM leader Raila Odinga, known as "Baba," calling him the people's champion who remains committed to the party's cause. Meanwhile, President Ruto dismissed calls for his resignation as "washwash-style conmanship," urging opposition parties to present alternative plans rather than merely demanding his departure. Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua criticized Ruto's leadership, accusing him of failure and blaming others for his difficulties. Ruto pledged to fulfill all his promises to Kenyans and requested more time to deliver on his agenda, rejecting opposition chants for his removal as ineffective.
