South Korean actress Kang Seo-ha, known for roles in television dramas such as “Heart Surgeons,” “First Love Again” and “Nobody Knows,” has died at the age of 31. Her family and former agency told South Korean outlets that the performer succumbed to stage-4 stomach cancer on 13 July; the death was publicly confirmed the following day. A wake has been arranged in Room 8 of the funeral hall at Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital, with a procession scheduled for 7:40 a.m. on 16 July. Kang will be laid to rest in her family’s burial site in Haman, South Gyeongsang Province. Born Kang Ye-won in 1994, the Seoul native studied theatre at the Korea National University of Arts and entered the entertainment industry in 2012. Despite her illness she completed work on the feature film “In the Net” (also titled “Mangnaein”), which producers plan to release posthumously. Kang’s death has prompted tributes from colleagues and fans across Asia’s entertainment sector.
