The U.S. Supreme Court's recent rulings on gun rights have led to significant legal challenges and confusion in lower courts. The rulings have impacted over 100 pending cases, including those involving abortion, health care discrimination, immigration, and overtime pay. Notably, the Supreme Court's decisions have prompted skepticism from conservative appellate judges regarding the Justice Department’s defense of a handgun sale ban for individuals aged 18 to 20. Additionally, various advocacy groups have filed amicus briefs urging the Supreme Court to hear challenges to Maryland's Assault Weapons Ban, Snope v. Brown, and other gun-related cases. Oregon has also recently banned unserialized, untraceable ghost guns, ahead of a Supreme Court case that will determine the fate of a nationwide rule prohibiting ghost guns. The current SCOTUS term will also address issues such as gender transitions and medical marijuana. The case Linton v. Bonta remains unappealed by California.
