BlackRock has made multiple substantial purchases of Ethereum (ETH) over the past week, totaling approximately $900 million. The firm acquired $314.9 million worth of ETH on August 26, followed by additional purchases of $89.2 million and $92.6 million in subsequent days. On August 27 and 28, BlackRock continued its accumulation, buying $323.1 million and $262.6 million worth of ETH respectively. These transactions were confirmed by blockchain analytics firm Arkham and other sources tracking institutional activity. Concurrently, several whale investors have been actively buying ETH, with four whale addresses purchasing $357.2 million worth of ETH over two days, increasing their collective holdings to around $140 million. Institutional and whale activity suggests a growing conviction in Ethereum as whales and fresh wallets continue to accumulate. Additionally, BlackRock also purchased $63.7 million worth of Bitcoin (BTC) on August 29. Meanwhile, data indicates a net selling pressure on Ethereum from top profit-and-loss traders and smart traders, but overall accumulation by whales and fresh wallets remains strong, with fresh wallets adding $3 billion worth of ETH in the past week. Other altcoins such as AAVE, WLD, and UNI have also seen accumulation by whales recently.
