BlackRock’s spot Ethereum exchange-traded fund sold about 19,500 Ether valued at roughly $87.2 million on Aug. 18, according to trade disclosures circulated by crypto-market data services on Tuesday. The liquidation represents one of the fund’s largest single-day disposals since it listed earlier this year. Separate trade data indicate the asset manager also unloaded 490 Bitcoin worth about $68.7 million during the same session, trimming its exposure to the world’s two largest digital assets. BlackRock has not commented on the rationale for the transactions, which come amid renewed volatility in cryptocurrency prices and continued regulatory scrutiny of spot crypto products in the United States.
