A blockchain address tied to the Ethereum Foundation sold about 2,800 ether for roughly US$12.8 million over a three-hour span early 13 August, on-chain data show. The transactions were executed in two tranches—1,695 ETH swapped for 7.72 million DAI at an implied price of US$4,556 per coin, followed 30 minutes later by 1,100 ETH for 5.06 million DAI at US$4,602. The wallet (0xF39d…) had originally received 20,756 ETH from an official foundation account in 2017 and still holds about 1,500 ETH, valued near US$6.9 million at current prices. The sales mark its largest disposal of ether in nearly a year, according to Etherscan records. Separately, a wallet associated with early Ethereum contributor Russell Verbeeten transferred 445 ETH, worth around US$2.1 million, to crypto exchange Kraken after 11 months of inactivity. The fresh movements by foundation-linked and insider addresses come as ether hovers near a four-month high above US$4,600.
