Qatar said it has received an affirmative response from Hamas to the latest proposal for a Gaza cease-fire, describing the group’s reply as “almost identical” to terms recently advanced by U.S. envoy Witkoff and largely in line with Israel’s most recent position. He cautioned that no binding guarantees exist beyond the parties’ commitment to implement the deal and warned that failure to reach an accord would deepen Gaza’s humanitarian crisis.
