Hezbollah's deputy leader Naim Qassem has reiterated the group's refusal to disarm, emphasizing that their weapons represent their soul, honor, land, dignity, and the future of their children. This stance comes in response to the Lebanese government's announcement of a disarmament plan for Hezbollah as part of a ceasefire agreement negotiated between Lebanon, Israel, and the United States. Hezbollah insists that disarmament talks will not proceed until Israel fully complies with the November 27 ceasefire and withdraws from Lebanese territory. Lebanese Justice Minister has stated that Hezbollah's disarmament is a Lebanese decision, independent of any American or external initiatives. Hezbollah's political deputy warned that if the Lebanese government insists on disarming the group, it could trigger widespread popular unrest. Additionally, Hezbollah's political deputy criticized the U.S. delegation's statements on disarmament as a denial of the November 2024 agreement brokered by the U.S. and France. The deputy also condemned attempts to involve the Lebanese army against the population and challenged the Lebanese Prime Minister's claim of implementing the Taif Agreement, calling it a serious error and suspicion.
