Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Secretary Ali Larijani said the country’s missile offensive against Israel during the recent conflict overwhelmed what he described as “the most advanced defensive capabilities” fielded by Israel. Speaking in remarks carried by local media on Sunday, Larijani called the operation a strategic achievement for Tehran. The senior official added that safeguarding internal security remains a priority, warning that “enemy infiltration inside Iran is a serious matter.” He said some citizens who had previously protested against the government closed ranks once Israeli forces attacked, illustrating, in his view, national cohesion in wartime. Larijani also urged regional actors to prevent external powers from destabilising Iran and neighbouring Iraq, stressing that Tehran would not tolerate efforts by third parties to undermine the two countries’ security.
