Syrian state media and local sources reported that Israeli forces deliberately set fire to agricultural land near the separation fence in the Quneitra countryside, close to the occupied Golan Heights. The fires reportedly burned dozens of acres west of Al-Rafid village in southern Quneitra. Syrian sources also noted an explosion of a landmine near the separation fence amid the fires. The United Nations peacekeeping forces in the area attempted to extinguish the fires but faced significant difficulties. Syrian officials condemned the incident, stating that the deliberate burning of farmland violates the 1974 disengagement agreement between Syria and Israel.
