Over the past several days, the Gaza Strip has experienced intense violence resulting in numerous casualties, with many victims among those waiting for humanitarian aid. Medical sources and Gaza health officials reported that since early August 7, at least 61 Palestinians were killed and hundreds injured in Israeli military operations, including airstrikes, drone attacks, and gunfire. Among the fatalities, a considerable number were aid seekers, with reports indicating up to 40 individuals killed while awaiting assistance. Specific incidents include Israeli strikes on neighborhoods such as Al-Tuffah and Al-Shuja’iya in Gaza City, attacks near the Nuseirat camp and Khan Younis, and drone strikes on displaced persons' tents in the Mawasi area. Hospitals including Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, Al-Awda Hospital, and the Nasser Medical Complex have treated numerous casualties. The Gaza Ministry of Health noted that in the latest 24-hour period alone, 61 people were killed and 363 injured, with 35 of the dead and 304 of the injured being aid seekers. The ongoing hostilities have resulted in a cumulative death toll in Gaza reaching over 61,400 since October 7, 2023, with more than 153,000 injured. Among the injured is a Palestinian child, Samir Zaqout, who suffered severe limb amputations from a drone strike and is seeking medical treatment abroad.
