Israeli forces mounted a wave of air, drone and artillery attacks across the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, killing at least 40 Palestinians and injuring scores more, according to hospital officials and local media reports. The deadliest incidents occurred in Gaza City’s Al-Shati refugee camp. Al-Shifa Hospital said twelve members of the Nassar family were pulled from the rubble of their home after a predawn strike. Hours later, a separate bombing in the same camp killed at least nine additional people—five of them children—and wounded about 25, with a third strike reported later in the day. In southern Gaza, a drone strike on the crowded Bani Suheila roundabout in Khan Younis killed seven people, while nearby residential areas were hit by follow-up detonations and shelling. In Gaza City’s Al-Tuffah district, three civilians died when ordnance landed near Shaaban School, and four others were reported dead in an earlier strike on a building in neighboring Al-Zaytoun. Medical sources said Israeli gunfire near an aid distribution center north of Rafah left two dead and more than 30 wounded. Further north, Al-Awda Hospital in Nuseirat confirmed that a drone strike on a displacement tent west of the camp killed a woman and two children and injured sixteen others, including a pregnant woman. Additional bombardments were reported in Jabalia, Deir al-Balah and Al-Mawasi as unmanned aircraft and ground units expanded operations late into the night. The day’s casualties underscored the escalating toll on Gaza’s civilian population amid the continuing conflict.
