U.S. podcaster Joe Rogan used a 5 July episode of his show to denounce Israel’s ongoing offensive in Gaza, describing recent strikes that reportedly hit Palestinians waiting for food as “f***ing insane.” Speaking with Replit founder Amjad Masad, Rogan argued that public discussion of Palestinian civilian deaths is stifled in the United States because critics are quickly branded antisemitic. Rogan’s comments came a day after political commentator Cenk Uygur delivered a string of on-air remarks accusing Israel of acting like an “aggressive imperial empire” and committing genocide in Gaza. Uygur called the country’s far-right leadership “genocidal maniacs” and said lasting peace requires an end to the occupation and the creation of a two-state solution. The high-profile condemnations from Rogan and Uygur add to mounting criticism in U.S. media circles over Israel’s conduct in the enclave, where aid groups and health officials say thousands of civilians have been killed since the conflict escalated last October.
