Google co-founder Sergey Brin condemned a recent United Nations report on Gaza, calling the world body “transparently antisemitic” in an internal Google DeepMind forum, according to screenshots cited by the Washington Post. Brin added that using the term “genocide” to describe Israel’s military campaign was “deeply offensive” to Jews who have endured “actual genocides.” The report, written by UN special rapporteur Francesca Albanese, alleges that technology firms, including Google and parent company Alphabet, have profited from “the genocide carried out by Israel” by providing cloud, artificial-intelligence and data-analytics services to Israeli government and defense agencies. It singles out Project Nimbus, a $1.2 billion joint cloud-computing contract awarded to Google and Amazon in 2021, as evidence the companies have materially supported Israel’s operations in Gaza. Brin’s remarks intensify the long-running controversy over Silicon Valley’s ties to Israel. Google has faced employee protests over Project Nimbus, while U.S. diplomats have urged the UN secretary-general to review Albanese’s mandate, accusing her of bias against Israel. The company has not commented publicly on Brin’s statements.

The UN documented all the tech Google gives to the IDF in Gaza. When the UN used to word "genocide" to describe what Google is profiting from - eg, what most groups call it -- Google's co-founder Sergey Brin, in a Google forum, denounced the UN as "transparently anti-Semitic." https://t.co/XlQgl8A6CF
