The Jordanian army has conducted a new airdrop operation to deliver food and humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip amid ongoing conflict and severe humanitarian conditions. Despite these efforts, aid deliveries via airdrops have been criticized as costly, ineffective, and insufficient, covering only about 7% of the food shortfall, with parachute failures causing civilian casualties. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) emphasized the urgent need for a regular and scaled flow of basic hygiene supplies and humanitarian aid through UN channels. UNICEF spokesperson James Elder highlighted that a limited number of airdrops cannot meet the lethal nutritional needs of Gaza's population. The Gaza Civil Defense warned that without immediate fuel supplies, essential services will cease, and called for international pressure on Israel to allow fuel entry. Meanwhile, Israeli airstrikes and artillery shelling have intensified, targeting residential areas and shelters in Gaza, including Khan Younis and neighborhoods in Gaza City such as Al-Zaytoun and Al-Tuffah. Video footage has documented the destruction and attacks on schools sheltering displaced Palestinians, underscoring the dire situation. Humanitarian organizations have called for a significant increase in aid to address the expanding hunger and catastrophic conditions in Gaza.
