Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated that increasing humanitarian aid to Gaza delays the release of hostages and the complete victory in the ongoing conflict. Despite this, Netanyahu affirmed that Israel will continue allowing a minimum level of humanitarian aid into Gaza, emphasizing that there should be no further excuses from the United Nations regarding aid access. The United Nations Humanitarian Affairs Coordinator and UNICEF have welcomed the recent humanitarian truce and the entry of aid into Gaza, highlighting the urgent need for pauses to deliver essential supplies, especially to children affected since the ceasefire collapsed in March. The International Committee of the Red Cross described the healthcare situation in Gaza as catastrophic and called for an immediate increase in medical supplies, equipment, and personnel. Médecins Sans Frontières stressed the necessity of continuous humanitarian supply deliveries. Netanyahu reiterated Israel’s commitment to allowing humanitarian aid while pursuing a decisive victory over Hamas.
