Pakistan on Friday dispatched its 18th humanitarian consignment to Gaza, reinforcing Islamabad’s support for Palestinians amid the protracted Israel-Hamas conflict. Federal Information and Broadcasting Minister Attaullah Tarar oversaw the send-off ceremony at Islamabad International Airport, acting on directives from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The shipment—co-ordinated by the National Disaster Management Authority—adds 100 tons of relief goods, bringing Pakistan’s total assistance sent since October 2023 to 1,815 tons. The cargo comprises dry ration packs, Meals Ready-to-Eat and medicines intended to alleviate shortages faced by civilians, particularly women and children, in the besieged enclave. Government officials reiterated Pakistan’s backing for a sovereign Palestinian state within pre-1967 borders and said they are working with international partners to ensure the supplies reach Gaza swiftly despite logistical hurdles created by continuing hostilities.
