Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a series of diplomatic engagements with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington and New York in late July 2025. During their meeting in Washington, Rubio acknowledged Pakistan's sacrifices in the fight against terrorism. Subsequently, Ishaq Dar continued discussions with Rubio by phone, focusing on bilateral and global issues. Concurrently, Dar participated in the United Nations Two States Solution conference in New York, where he addressed the Palestine conference. Additionally, he met with foreign ministers from Egypt, Kuwait, Bangladesh, and Jordan on the sidelines of the UN event to discuss bilateral relations and mutual interests. The meetings occurred amid U.S. rejection of the ongoing Two States Solution conference. Separately, Pakistan's Finance Minister departed for the United States to finalize trade dialogue.
