Since mid-June 2025, Palestinians across the Gaza Strip have been mourning the deaths of numerous family members, including children, in a series of Israeli airstrikes targeting various locations such as Al-Shati refugee camp, Jabalia, Shuja'iyya neighborhood, Al-Mawasi displacement camp, Khan Younis, Nuseirat camp, Deir Al-Balah, and Gaza City neighborhoods including Al-Zawiya, Al-Tuffah, Al-Zaytoun, Al-Ridwan, and Al-Saftawi. The strikes have hit civilian areas, including homes, tents sheltering displaced people, vegetable stalls, markets, schools, and a water desalination plant. Families have been bidding tearful farewells to their loved ones, with many parents losing children and entire households wiped out, including the Abu Amsha clan and the Abu Jarad family. Among the victims are infants as young as two weeks old, children aged 12, and multiple siblings. The airstrikes have caused widespread grief and trauma, with scenes of fathers, mothers, and children mourning the loss of their relatives. Reports indicate that more than 100 Palestinians have been killed daily in these airstrikes, with continuous bombardments described as massacres by the affected communities. The conflict has led to extensive humanitarian suffering, with displaced families targeted while seeking food and shelter in areas previously designated as safe zones by Israeli forces.
