US Envoy at UN Backs Israel, Rejects Genocide Allegations

At an emergency session of the United Nations Security Council on 10 Aug 2025, the United States’ representative said Washington supports Israel’s right to defend itself and dismissed accusations that Israeli military actions amount to genocide. The envoy charged that several European countries were exploiting the humanitarian situation in Gaza to level what she called unfounded claims against Israel, after those governments condemned Israel for allegedly starving the enclave’s population and planning a permanent occupation.
