Major League Baseball on Sunday released the full rosters for the 2025 All-Star Game, naming Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Clayton Kershaw a “Legend Pick” in recognition of his career achievements. The 37-year-old, who became the 20th pitcher to notch 3,000 strikeouts last week, will make his 11th All-Star appearance. Commissioner Rob Manfred has used the discretionary honor only twice before, selecting Albert Pujols and Miguel Cabrera in 2022. Kershaw headlines a league-leading five Dodgers on the National League squad. Fan balloting earlier in the week elected designated hitter Shohei Ohtani, first baseman Freddie Freeman and catcher Will Smith as starters, giving Los Angeles three fan-elected starters for the first time since 1980. Right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto was later added through the league’s selections, earning his first trip to the midsummer showcase. In all, the 32-man NL and AL rosters include 19 first-time All-Stars and 65 players overall. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts will guide the National League team, while the American League roster features four representatives each from the Detroit Tigers and Seattle Mariners. The 95th All-Star Game is scheduled for July 15 at Truist Park in Atlanta, home of the Braves. Pitching assignments and Home Run Derby participants will be finalized in the days leading up to the event.
