Baltimore Orioles right-hander Brandon Young delivered an immaculate inning against the New York Mets on Tuesday night, striking out Jesse Winker, Jeff McNeil and Luis Torrens on nine pitches in the fifth frame at Camden Yards. It is the 119th immaculate inning recorded in Major League Baseball history and the Orioles’ first since Kevin Gausman accomplished the feat on April 23, 2018. Young, who began the night carrying a 7.02 ERA, worked five scoreless innings, marking the first time he has completed five frames in his five major-league starts. He needed just 45 pitches to navigate the first four innings before recording the pristine fifth, giving Baltimore early control of the interleague matchup.
