The Tampa Bay Rays defeated the Oakland Athletics 4–2 at Steinbrenner Field in Tampa on Wednesday, completing a three-game series behind a barrage of three home runs. Center fielder Jake Mangum opened the scoring for Tampa Bay with an inside-the-park homer in the second inning, the 24th in franchise history and the most by any major-league club since the Rays entered MLB in 1998. Right fielder Josh Lowe followed with a conventional home run, and first baseman Yandy Díaz delivered his 14th of the season, a two-run shot in the sixth that put the Rays ahead for good. Second baseman Brandon Lowe doubled to extend his hitting streak to 18 games, tying for the third-longest in club records, while Díaz’s on-base streak reached 25 games. The win preserves Tampa Bay’s momentum as it heads into its next series, while Oakland drops the finale despite taking an early 2–1 lead.
