MTV has expanded the performance roster for the 2025 Video Music Awards, adding Post Malone, Doja Cat, Jelly Roll, Tate McRae and Conan Gray to the show set for Sept. 7. LL Cool J will host the ceremony, which will air live from UBS Arena in New York at 8 p.m. ET on CBS, MTV and Paramount+. The newly announced artists join a previously revealed slate that includes Mariah Carey, Sabrina Carpenter, Busta Rhymes, J Balvin featuring DJ Snake and Ricky Martin. Carey will accept the Video Vanguard Award, while Busta Rhymes is slated to receive the Rock the Bells Visionary Award and Martin the inaugural Latin Icon Award. Several of the latest additions are also in contention for trophies. Jelly Roll is nominated in four categories, including best alternative and best hip-hop, while Tate McRae contends for song of the year with “Sports Car.” Post Malone, a six-time VMA winner, is up for best collaboration with Blake Shelton for “Pour Me a Drink.”
