Oasis has detailed a 30th-anniversary deluxe edition of its landmark 1995 album “(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?” The package, due 3 Oct. through Big Brother Recordings, will be issued in three-LP, two-CD and digital formats and features new artwork by original sleeve designer Brian Cannon alongside fresh liner notes. The reissue adds five newly recorded unplugged versions of fan favourites — “Cast No Shadow,” “Morning Glory,” “Wonderwall,” “Acquiesce” and “Champagne Supernova.” Guitarist-songwriter Noel Gallagher produced and mixed the tracks with engineer Callum Marinho at Gallagher’s Lone Star Sound studio in London. The acoustic take of “Acquiesce” was released 2 July as the first preview. Originally released in October 1995, “Morning Glory?” has sold more than 22 million copies worldwide and ranks as the United Kingdom’s third best-selling studio album. News of the reissue arrives two days before Oasis begins its first tour since disbanding in 2009; the brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher open the 41-date trek on 4 July at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium before heading to venues across Europe, North America, Asia, Australia and South America.
