Robert Plant has announced “Saving Grace”, his first release since the 2021 Alison Krauss collaboration “Raise the Roof”. Due on 26 September through Nonesuch Records, the project is credited to Plant and his six-year-old backing group Saving Grace, whose line-up includes vocalist Suzi Dian, drummer Oli Jefferson, guitarist Tony Kelsey, multi-instrumentalist Matt Worley and cellist Barney Morse-Brown. Described by Plant as “a song book of the lost and found”, the 10-track record features interpretations of material by Memphis Minnie, Moby Grape’s Bob Mosley, Blind Willie Johnson and The Low Anthem, alongside traditionals such as “As I Roved Out”. Its lead single is a studio version of Low’s “Everybody’s Song”, the first time the Led Zeppelin singer has officially recorded the track after performing it live in 2020. Plant and Saving Grace will support the release with their debut North American tour, opening 30 October at the Capitol Theatre in Wheeling, West Virginia, and concluding 22 November at Los Angeles’ United Theater on Broadway. The 17-date run includes stops in Washington D.C., Brooklyn, Toronto, Chicago and Seattle, with tickets set to go on public sale on 18 July.
