Japanese animation studio Science SARU launched Season 2 of its supernatural comedy series “Dan Da Dan” on 3 July. The new run airs weekly in the MBS/TBS ‘Super Anime-ism TURBO’ late-night slot and is available the same day on Netflix, Crunchyroll and Hulu, widening global access to the title that became a breakout hit in 2024. Season 2 opens with three episodes that continue directly from last year’s cliff-hanger, thrusting high-schoolers Momo Ayase and Okarun into an escalating battle with the shamanistic Kito family. Early reviews from outlets such as IGN describe the premiere as a “genre-bending comeback” that deepens the back-story of newcomer Jiji while maintaining the series’ trademark colour-saturated action. The production has refreshed its music line-up. Singer-songwriter AiNA THE END contributes the fast-paced opening track “On The Way,” written to echo the lead characters’ relationship, while rock unit WurtS provides the dance-centric ending theme “Doukashiteru.” Animated sequences for both songs were released online alongside the broadcast, drawing praise for their dynamic choreography and monochrome-to-colour visual motif. Producer committees have also approved a Blu-ray/DVD series for Season 2, with release details to follow, signalling confidence in sustained demand for the franchise created by manga artist Yukinobu Tatsu.
