In response to the catastrophic flooding in Texas Hill Country that resulted in 59 deaths and 11 missing persons, several professional sports teams and organizations have pledged substantial financial support for relief efforts. The Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans each donated $500,000, with the NFL Foundation contributing an additional $500,000, bringing their combined total to $1.5 million. This funding is intended to aid communities impacted by the flooding, including Kerr County and Central Texas. Additionally, Texas-based NBA teams—the Dallas Mavericks, Houston Rockets, and San Antonio Spurs—along with the NBA and the National Basketball Players Association, have collectively donated more than $2 million to support both immediate and long-term recovery efforts in the region. Other Texas sports franchises, including the Houston Astros and Texas Rangers, have also contributed $1 million each.
