A series of weather alerts and emergency measures have been issued across multiple counties in Arizona amid severe weather and wildfire conditions. The National Weather Service (NWS) Phoenix office issued special weather statements for several areas including Gila County, Tonto Basin, Roosevelt, Sunflower, Anthem, Cave Creek, Carefree, Phoenix, Glendale, Peoria, Tolleson, Komatke, and Gila Crossing, with varying expiration times between August 13 and 14, 2025. Concurrently, the NWS Flagstaff office issued severe thunderstorm warnings and flood advisories for portions of Yavapai County, covering locations such as Prescott Valley, Antelope Park, Fain Lake, Mountain Valley Park, Prescott Airport, Watson Lake, Willow Creek Reservoir, Embry-Riddle University, Jerome, Mingus Mountain, Clarkdale, Tuzigoot National Monument, Cottonwood Airport, Potato Patch Campground, and Woodchute Mountain. These warnings were active until mid-afternoon on August 14. Additionally, a wildfire known as the Washington Fire north of Payson in Gila County has prompted evacuation orders for some residents. The fire and severe weather conditions have led to ongoing emergency responses in central Arizona.
