The Denver Nuggets have reshaped their leadership structure, promoting Ben Tenzer to executive vice president of basketball operations and hiring Minnesota Timberwolves executive Jon Wallace as executive vice president of player personnel, according to multiple reports on 23 June. Tenzer, who was elevated to interim general manager for this year’s playoff run, will oversee the club’s basketball strategy, while Wallace is expected to direct scouting and roster development. Both executives will report to team president Josh Kroenke. The moves come two days before the NBA draft and follow Kroenke’s April decision to dismiss head coach Michael Malone and general manager Calvin Booth, the duo that helped guide Denver to its first championship in 47 years. The Nuggets have yet to name a permanent general manager, indicating further front-office changes may be forthcoming.
