ESPN paid tribute to longtime College GameDay analyst Lee Corso during the 2025 ESPYS on Wednesday night, marking the run-up to his final full-time appearance on the college-football pregame show next month. Castmates Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard and Pat McAfee took the stage to recount Corso’s 38 years on GameDay and his influence on sports broadcasting. A video montage of Corso’s trademark mascot headgear picks preceded an on-stage visit from the USC marching band, allowing the 88-year-old commentator to don Trojan headgear once more. Corso thanked ESPN for “the opportunity to do a job that I have loved for 38 years” and acknowledged his wife Betsy during a brief speech. His final regular appearance is scheduled for Aug. 30, when GameDay opens the season at the Texas–Ohio State game in Columbus.
