Former Florida State and Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher said he is actively looking for “the right situation” to return to college football after nearly two seasons away from the sideline. Speaking on the “Trials to Triumph” podcast, the 59-year-old coach declared, “I’d be very interested in still doing it … I’ve still got a lot to give.” Fisher amassed an 83–23 record and a 2013 national championship with Florida State before moving to Texas A&M, where he went 45–25 and was dismissed in November 2023. The Aggies paid a record $76 million buyout after extending him on a 10-year, $95 million deal in 2021. Fisher, now an analyst with ESPN’s ACC Network, said he misses daily interaction with players and believes his experience can help a program contend immediately. Separately, former Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Las Vegas Raiders coach Jon Gruden told Georgia players he would “die to coach in the SEC,” underscoring a parallel push by another high-profile coach to re-enter the sport. Gruden, 62 next month, has been out of coaching since resigning from the Raiders in 2021 amid the publication of offensive emails.
