Syracuse University has secured a commitment from Calvin Russell, a consensus five-star wide receiver from Miami Northwestern High School. The 6-foot-5, 200-pound prospect announced his decision late Saturday, selecting the Orange over fellow finalists Michigan, Florida State and Oregon. Russell is widely regarded as a top-five receiver in the 2026 recruiting class and becomes Syracuse’s highest-rated football commitment since 2000. His pledge marks a major early recruiting victory for head coach Fran Brown, who took charge of the program last December and has emphasized attracting elite talent to Central New York.
