OpenAI has reached about $12 billion in annualized revenue, roughly doubling its top line in the first seven months of 2025, according to The Information. The figure implies monthly sales of around $1 billion for the Microsoft-backed artificial-intelligence company. Usage of the company’s flagship ChatGPT service continues to expand, with weekly active users now exceeding 700 million across consumer and enterprise versions, the report said. OpenAI has also lifted its projected cash burn for 2025 to roughly $8 billion as it spends heavily on computing infrastructure and new products. To finance that outlay, the firm is seeking a second $30 billion tranche of its ongoing funding round and has secured about $7.5 billion in commitments from investors including Sequoia Capital, Tiger Global Management and SoftBank, according to the report.
