New York Giants rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart extended his flawless preseason on Thursday, directing a five-play, 57-yard touchdown drive on his opening series in the club’s third exhibition game. The former Southern Cal signal-caller was the second quarterback taken in the 2025 NFL Draft after New York traded up to select him in the first round. Through three preseason appearances, the 22-year-old has completed 32 of 47 passes for 372 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions, producing a 113.1 passer rating. He has added 52 rushing yards and a score on six carries. Dart’s most productive outing came against the Jets on Aug. 16, when he went 14-of-16 for 137 yards, threw a touchdown to tight end Greg Dulcich and scored on a quarterback sneak. He debuted a week earlier against the Bills, finishing 12-of-19 for 154 yards and a touchdown. Veteran Russell Wilson continues to open games for New York and is widely viewed as the presumptive Week 1 starter, but Dart’s efficiency is tightening the quarterback competition. Jameis Winston also saw action on Thursday, connecting on a 27-yard touchdown pass after Dart exited. Head coach Brian Daboll has not yet announced the regular-season depth chart.
