Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice is scheduled to appear before the National Football League on 30 September for a personal-conduct disciplinary hearing, according to multiple reports. Because the session falls after Week 4, the 25-year-old is expected to be eligible for the Chiefs’ first four games, including the season opener in São Paulo against the Los Angeles Chargers. The league is weighing sanctions over Rice’s role in a March 2024 high-speed, multi-vehicle crash in Dallas. He pleaded guilty in July to two third-degree felonies, received 30 days in jail and five years of deferred probation, and agreed to pay about $115,000 in medical restitution. A separate civil suit calls for a $1 million payment that lawyers for one victim say remains outstanding. Rice, a 2023 second-round draft pick, led Kansas City receivers as a rookie with 79 catches for 938 yards before a knee injury ended his 2024 campaign in Week 4. He has participated fully in training camp and is on track to return to the field while the NFL deliberates additional discipline.
