Minnesota Vikings wide receiver and primary punt returner Rondale Moore was carted from the field during the second quarter of Saturday’s preseason opener against the Houston Texans after suffering an apparent left lower-leg injury on a two-yard punt return. Head coach Kevin O’Connell told reporters he has “pretty significant concern for a serious knee injury,” and the club will conduct imaging tests to determine the extent of the damage. Moore, 25, is attempting to restart his career after missing the entire 2024 season with a right-knee injury sustained while with Atlanta. Saturday’s exhibition slate produced additional injury worries around the league. Tennessee Titans running back Tyjae Spears left the team’s game with what team radio and ESPN’s Turron Davenport described as a high-ankle sprain. Medical experts said a grade-1 sprain could allow Spears to return by Week 1, but a grade-2 or higher might sideline him for several weeks or require placement on the physically-unable-to-perform list. In Green Bay, Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed was spotted in a walking boot on his left foot. Independent sports-medicine specialists indicated the injury appears consistent with a mid-foot sprain, potentially of grade-2 severity, though the club has not released a diagnosis. Reed’s status, like that of Moore and Spears, will be clearer after follow-up examinations early this week.

Tyjae Spears Suffered a high-ankle sprain tonight Depending on severity, this could range from grade 1, and he will be ready by Week 1. But if this is a grade 2, he could miss several weeks and PUP would be a possibility. Grade 3 would require surgery and PUP. Tony Pollard
