Buhari, who died at the age of 82 in a London clinic on Sunday, will be buried in his hometown of Daura in Katsina State on Tuesday. While in London, Shettima paid condolence visits to Buhari's widow, Aisha Buhari, and former Head of State General Abdulsalami Abubakar. The Nigerian government delegation, which included former President Goodluck Jonathan and former Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo, prepared to escort Buhari's remains to Nigeria. President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to receive the remains in Katsina ahead of the final interment. On Tuesday morning, Buhari's remains departed London for Daura for the state burial.
