Thousands of North Korean laborers have been sent to Russia to work under harsh, slave-like conditions amid the ongoing war in Ukraine. Reports indicate these workers endure 18-hour shifts, constant surveillance, and minimal freedom, supporting Russia's wartime economy and construction projects. This deployment addresses Russia's severe labor shortages caused by the conflict. Additionally, Ukraine's intelligence chief has revealed that North Korea plans to send approximately 6,000 troops along with up to 100 pieces of military equipment, including M2010 (Cheonma-D) main battle tanks and armored personnel carriers, to Russia. North Korea is also supplying around 40% of the artillery ammunition and weapons used by Russian forces in the conflict. These developments highlight Pyongyang's increasing military and labor support for Moscow amid the ongoing war.
