In response to severe monsoon rains and flooding across northern Pakistan, the Pakistan Army has launched extensive rescue and relief operations. Over 230 millimeters of rainfall were recorded in Rawalpindi within 15 hours, prompting authorities to declare a state of emergency. Army troops and helicopters have been deployed to flood-affected areas including Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Dhok Bhidar, Darapur, and Chakri Road in Punjab, as well as the mountainous regions of Deosai, Skardu Road, Diamer District, and along the Karakoram and Babusar highways. Rescue teams have saved dozens of people trapped in floodwaters and landslide-hit zones, with helicopter missions playing a critical role in evacuations and delivering aid. The Pakistan Army is also working alongside the Frontier Works Organization (FWO) to restore access routes and support ongoing relief efforts. Emergency declarations remain in place in affected districts as search operations continue for missing individuals.
