The 2025 World Series of Poker Main Event has narrowed to 1,476 players after Day 3, down from the 3,453 who began the day. Japan’s Shotaro Kobayashi tops the leaderboard with 1.97 million chips, followed closely by 2024 WSOP Europe champion Max Neugebauer on 1.93 million and France’s Sam Jakubowicz on 1.80 million. The field is only 15 eliminations away from the money bubble, and all remaining contenders are chasing a $10 million first-place payout. Several well-known players remain in contention. Former Main Event winner Damian Salas bagged 413,000 chips (68 big blinds) as he seeks a second title. Other notable stacks include statistician Nate Silver with 572,000 chips and popular content creator Brad Owen on 328,000. Day 4 will feature five two-hour levels as the tournament moves into the paid places and continues its march toward the final table. Away from the Main Event, the race for the WSOP Player of the Year title remains tight. Three-time 2025 bracelet winner Benny Glaser retains the lead, but Scott Bohlman is fewer than 40 points back after recording 11 cashes, three final tables and one victory this summer. Nick Schulman has entered the top ten, and Yilong Wang (listed as Chunlan Yi) vaulted into the same bracket after capturing Event #68, the $3,000 No-Limit Hold’em bracelet.
