Errol Musk has called on US President Donald Trump to resolve his growing dispute with Elon Musk, describing his son as “not a fool” and “a very good person” who chooses his words carefully. In a series of interviews with Al Arabiya broadcast on 2–3 July, the South African engineer urged Trump and the Tesla chief executive to “talk things out” instead of remaining at loggerheads. The elder Musk said political confrontations require experience that his 54-year-old son lacks, advising Elon to “listen first, explain himself and not throw stones right away.” He added that human behaviour in politics is complex and that he does not fully understand the source of the tension between the two men. In a separate conversation with Sky News on 7 July, Errol Musk reiterated that he had warned his son against entering politics, calling it “a pool without a bottom.” He characterised Elon as “very straightforward” and “not a very good politician at all,” and repeated his appeal for both sides to defuse the dispute before it widens further.
