FC Porto has bought the remaining 35% of Samu Aghehowa’s economic rights from Atlético de Madrid for €12 million, giving the Portuguese club 100% ownership of the 21-year-old Spanish striker. The deal completes a series of staged payments that began last summer, when Porto paid €15 million for an initial 50% stake and a further €5 million in May to raise its holding to 65%. The total outlay of €32 million follows a prolific first season in Portugal, where Aghehowa scored 27 goals across all competitions, including 19 in the Primeira Liga, six in the Europa League and two at the Club World Cup. Atlético, which signed the forward from Granada for roughly €6 million in 2023 but never fielded him in an official match, books a capital gain of about €26 million.
