Bubba Wallace captured the Brickyard 400 on Sunday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, becoming the first Black driver to win a major race on the track’s famed 2.5-mile oval. The 23XI Racing driver edged Hendrick Motorsports’ Kyle Larson by 0.222 seconds after two overtime restarts that followed a late rain shower. The victory snapped Wallace’s 100-race winless streak, his last triumph having come at Kansas in 2022, and delivered the third Cup Series win of his career. By taking the checkered flag, Wallace secured a berth in the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series playoffs with four regular-season events remaining. Wallace, who started on the front row, kept his No. 23 Toyota on track during the overtime gambles while several rivals worried about fuel. The result provided a marquee achievement for 23XI Racing, the team co-owned by basketball Hall of Famer Michael Jordan and fellow Cup driver Denny Hamlin.
