The Kremlin expects Friday’s summit between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump in Anchorage, Alaska, to last at least six to seven hours, according to state news wires RIA Novosti and Interfax. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the length includes both the leaders’ one-on-one session and wider negotiations with their delegations. Peskov added that aides will participate in the otherwise closed-door meeting and that Moscow hopes the talks will yield concrete results. A Russian official briefing cited by local media indicated a follow-up meeting that would include Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky could be considered if progress is made. The White House has penciled in a 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time start for the encounter, which will be Putin’s first visit to the United States in a decade. Details of the agenda have not been disclosed, but both sides have signaled that the war in Ukraine and broader bilateral issues will dominate the discussions.
