During the call, Trump briefed Putin on his separate discussions with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and European Union leaders earlier in the day, Ushakov told reporters. Both presidents expressed support for launching direct negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, the Kremlin official added. No other details of the conversation were immediately disclosed, and the White House has not yet issued its own readout.
