Tesla and Sunrun Roll Out Integrated Home Energy Plan in Texas

Sunrun has teamed with Tesla Electric to offer an integrated solar, battery and retail electricity package for Texas homeowners, combining the Sunrun Flex subscription service with Tesla’s Powerwall storage and retail power plan. Branded the Tesla Electric + Sunrun Flex plan, the product provides a low, fixed electricity rate, competitive payments for excess solar energy fed back to the grid and automatic enrollment in Tesla’s Virtual Power Plant program. The package also includes managed battery settings, rollover bill credits and performance guarantees with 24-hour monitoring and maintenance. The partners say the bundled approach will simplify Texas’s fragmented retail power market while giving customers predictable bills and backup power during outages, an acute concern after recent state-wide grid failures. The plan is available immediately to Sunrun Flex customers in areas of Texas where consumers may choose their electricity provider.
